Literacy Resources (Direct  to your interactive whiteboard!)

The following FREE resources are available to support the teaching of Literacy. The resources have been developed as part of the targeted support programs for Year 6 and Year 7 (ages 10 to 12) pupils.

Part of ATHENA's work is concerned with raising the level of pupil achievement in WRITING. Nationally, pupils appear to have more success with developed reading skills, than they do with acquiring good writing skills. The approach taken by ATHENA, is to concentrate on WRITING GENRES and to give pupils experience of constructing text across a a wide range of writing genres.

Technical bits:- The Interactive Whiteboard web pages are best used with Internet Explorer at Full Page (press F11) and at a screen resolution of 1024x768 (this can be set through the Windows Control Panel and becomes apparent if the display looks far too big for the computer screen)
